Are you an industry experienced professional looking to make a real impact? At our Rotterdam Terminal, we're seeking a dedicated Safety & Security Officer who will play a critical role in developing and maintaining the safety & security management system for ensuring compliance with legislation & standards across all operations. You will be a key part of our brand new HSEQ team, helping to develop the HSEQ organization while driving continuous improvement in safety & security performance.
As the Safety & Security Officer, you will take ownership of critical safety and security processes, to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and certifications, such as BRZO, ISPS, ISO standards etc.. You will be an important counterpart, both internal for Operations and Maintenance teams, as well external for governments and suppliers.
This role offers the opportunity to develop & implement ITR’s safety & security processes, drive continuous improvement, develop and set the safety culture from the beginning and ensuring that both staff and contractors adhere to the highest HSEQ standards. You will also take the lead on incident investigations, ISPS compliance and safety & security reporting, working closely with the HSEQ Manager to ensure that all necessary corrective actions are implemented.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement safety & security policies and procedures in line with regulatory requirements and internal standards. Monitor and report on HSEQ performance, using key performance indicators (KPIs). Design programs to ensure continuous improvement.
- Governance on the management of change (MOC) process , and safety programs related to operations and maintenance activities.
- Develop and drive the internal safety & security audit program. Support safety and security drills.
- Govern the permit to work & lock out tag out processes. Assist Task Risk assessments for high risk activities.
- Conduct regular safety inspections across terminal and berth operations.
- Act as Port Facility Security Officer (PFSO) with regards to the International Ship and Port Facility Security Code
(ISPS) - Ensure that all persons are inducted and adhere to the terminal's safety policies.
About you:
- HVK or Integral Safety (dutch; Integrale Veiligheid)
- 7-10 years of experience in an HSEQ role within the oil & gas, terminal, or related industries.
- Strong knowledge of Dutch Safety & Security regulations and industry best practices.
- Experienced working in the Rotterdam Ports environment is highly desirable.
- Experienced with ISO management system standards 9001:2015, 14001:2015, and 45001:2018. Fluency in both Dutch and English.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and collaborate with diverse teams.
- ISPS experience & PFSO certification is a plus.
