Job description

About Impala Terminals Rotterdam

At Impala Terminals Group we facilitate the storage and handling of raw materials worldwide, providing producers and consumers with reliable and efficient access to international markets through our global network of owned and operated terminals, and a presence in 28 countries.

Our brand new flagship Impala Terminals Rotterdam facility is under construction in  preparation for commissioning. This innovative terminal on the Maasvlakte is striving to be a zero-emission facility: the terminal is fully automated and meets the highest safety and environmental standards. It’s a facility built for the energy needs of both today and tomorrow.

For the start of Impala Terminals Rotterdam, we are looking for employees with a mindset for success. Because wherever we operate in the world, we strive for the same quality standards - and that all starts with our people. Our employees are the foundation of our company. As an HR Officer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Rotterdam Terminal by providing proactive HR services that attract, develop, and retain top talent. You’ll act as a trusted advisor to the General Manager, management team, and employees, ensuring that our HR practices align with global guidelines and local compliance requirements. In this role, you’ll oversee a wide range of HR activities, including recruitment, onboarding, learning and development, performance management, and employee relations. You will also manage collective labor relations and act as a custodian of our company culture, fostering a motivated and effective workforce.

  • Coordinate training activities and facilitate leadership development initiatives.

  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and minimize disputes by fostering positive employee relations.

  • Collaborate with Works Councils and other stakeholders to maintain effective communication and trust.

About You

  • 5-7 years of HR generalist experience, preferably in a medium-sized Dutch or multinational company.

  • Proven knowledge of HR compliance, labor laws, and regulatory obligations.

  • Experience working in unionized environments and collaborating with Works Councils.

  • Hands-on, “can-do” attitude with strong organizational skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills in both Dutch and English.

  • Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.

  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and HR systems.

  • Emotional intelligence, adaptability, and the ability to manage conflict effectively.
