Your role:
Are you ready to take on a pivotal role that ensures the reliability and performance of our critical infrastructure? We are seeking a dynamic Reliability Engineer to join our new and growing team and drive the integrity and efficiency of our storage tanks and facilities in the port of Rotterdam. If you are passionate about optimizing operations, enhancing asset longevity, and becoming part of the core team at a brand-new facility, this is the opportunity for you!


You will be responsible for maintaining the technical integrity of our assets and improving the reliability and performance of our storage tanks and infrastructure. You will develop and implement multi-year reliability plans, analyze equipment performance, and recommend improvements. Your expertise will be crucial in minimizing downtime, reducing maintenance costs, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Key responsibilities for this role are:


• Ensure safe working practices and maintain a clean work environment.
• Ensure maintenance strategies meet statutory and regulatory requirements.
• Continuously analyze and optimize maintenance strategies for the best asset performance at the lowest life cycle costs.
• Identify areas for reliability improvement to enhance business performance.
• Lead the RBI process and team for storage tanks and related equipment.
• Conduct FMECA to identify potential failure modes.
• Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and operations teams on reliability improvements.
• Support the Technical Manager with cost analyses and maintenance budget definitions.
• Prepare multi-year maintenance sustaining Capex budgets.
• Provide technical expertise for buy or repair decisions.
• Review and analyze Fit For Purpose calculations and recommendations.

Job requirements

About you:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Instrumentation, Chemical, or related field).

• 5-7 years of experience in Reliability Engineering, preferably in O&G or liquid tank storage.

• At least 4 years’ experience in a technical role in a major Liquid Petroleum Terminal.

• Strong knowledge of storage tank design, maintenance, and safety regulations (EEMUA 159/API650).

• Proficiency in reliability engineering principles, methods, and tools.

• Experience with condition monitoring and predictive maintenance technologies.


Skills and capabilities:

• Proven analytical skills and experience with data analysis software.

• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, CMMS, AutoCAD, and MS Project.

• Attention to detail and excellent planning and scheduling abilities.

• Team player with strong planning, budgeting, and organizational skills.

• Ability to handle a multifaceted workload in a production-driven environment.

• Dedicated and integrity professional guaranteeing that all activities comply with relevant safety, health, and environmental regulations.

• Full proficiency in Dutch and English.
